Street market, music highlight Long Grove Vintage Days

What's old is new again as the Historic Downtown Long Grove Business Association presents the 6th annual Vintage Days celebration Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 7-8, centered around the 400 block of Robert Parker Coffin Road in the village's downtown.

Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, and there is no admission or parking fee.

Vintage connoisseurs can find all things reclaimed, handmade, antique and repurposed with vendors showcasing their items in an open-air marketplace.

Beyond the variety of vendors expected, Vintage Days 2021 will also feature classic summertime fun, such as a penny carnival at noon Sunday hosted by the Long Grove Historical Society.

At 3:30 p.m. Saturday, the first dog mayor of Long Grove will be announced at the "In-DOG-uration."

There will be pony rides and nine holes of miniature golf sponsored by the local Lions Club, with holes set up at various merchants throughout town. The "Lions Den," where golfers pick up their clubs and balls, is where people can also pick up wine, beer, and sangria.

To top it off, the live music program at Vintage Days fits the theme with sounds from the past to today.

The Main Stage lineup is as follows:

Saturday

• 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jessica Rae (rootsy rock, country vibe)

• 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Burnt Biscuits (bluegrass, gypsy jazz, banjo)

• 4 to 6 p.m. Low-reen & Jim Harpdog Hellen's Firehouse (blues)

Sunday

• Noon to 2:30 p.m. Ludy (Sinatra style)

• 3 to 5 p.m. EZFM (yacht rock)

Additionally, there will be more music sprinkled throughout town from Long Grove Live favorites such as James & Friends, Matt Ray, and more.

Attendees are encouraged to stick around and explore the newly renovated historic downtown Long Grove. Independently owned shops, bars, and restaurants throughout the downtown will be welcoming in visitors throughout the weekend.
