Girls track and field: Local athletes shine at Class 1A state finals

St. Edward's Sophia Scheider took third place in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:23.02 Thursday at the Class 1A state girls track meet in Charleston.

Other top finishers included Christian Liberty's Julia Wolke, who was third in the 3,200 (11:29.36) and IC Catholic's Carly Manchester, who was fourth in both the 1,600 (5:27.22) and the 3,200 (11:39.91).

 

Aurora Christian's Maria Lambert finished fourth in the 100 dash in a time of 12.48.

Harvest Christian's 4x800 relay team finished fifth in 10:23.39. Team members were Annika Learned, Emma Leslie, Eva Serrato and Eva Camp.
