Sign up for Palatine Library's summer reading program

Sign up for this year's Summer Reading Program, "Reading Colors Your World," at Palatine Library, which runs through Sunday, Aug. 15.

Palatine Library cardholders can visit palatinelibrary.org/coloryourworld, register with the Beanstack Tracker app and log their books online. The app lets you easily scan bar codes and add titles to your log.

After registering, come in and grab a scratch-off card for a chance to win a prize. Plus, the scratch-off card has coupons and discounts from around town thanks to our 2021 Summer Reading Library Champions: California Pizza Kitchen, Deer Park; Culver's, Friends of Palatine Library; Grow Music Academy; Hoffman Estates Park District; MocaFIT; My Flavor It Place; Orange Theory Fitness; Papa John's Pizza; Photos Hot Dogs; Pizza Bella; Salon Lorrene; Salt Creek Park District; Sarpino's Pizzeria; Warehouse Direct.

From July 5-23, come to the library and pick up materials for the Design Challenge and make a collage about how "Reading Colors Your World." The library provide some pages from withdrawn books to help create your masterpiece about your summer. Bring your design back to the library by July 23 for display from July 25-31.

After finishing the "Reading Colors Your World" program, participants will receive a Grand Prize T-shirt, generously donated by Friends of Palatine Library and Warehouse Direct. This year, the library planned several dates you can sign up and come in to decorate your own T-shirt.

Visit palatinelibrary.org/coloryourworld for dates. Claim yours through Tuesday, Aug. 31, while supplies last.

Bring the whole family to the End of the Summer Party and First Floor Celebration from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, for activities - indoors and outdoors under our big tent in the parking lot. Enjoy a storytime, crafts for all ages, T-shirt decorating contest announcement, and Hungarian Dance Troupe music and show.

Plus, the library is excited to show off the finished first floor renovation. Tour the updated story room, children's area, teen space and marketplace of popular materials. Check out The Workshop and try out a variety of technology and equipment available to use.
