Naperville Park District offers outdoor fitness, wildflower walks and garden tours

Naperville Park District offers a lineup of special events and programs in April and May for a variety of ages and interests. Register at www.napervilleparks.org.

• Adults and teens ages 15 and up can participate in several one-day outdoor fitness and wellness classes in April and May, located at Rotary Hill, Wolf's Crossing Community Park Sled Hill, Knoch Park, or 95th Street Community Plaza. Classes include Functional Interval Training, Meditation, PiYo (Pilates-Yoga) and Yoga. Another one-day event is Suds and Salutations - a yoga class for adults ages 21 and up conducted by Fort Hill Fitness instructors in a large, socially distanced space at Noon Whistle Brewery on Saturday, April 10. Following the class, each participant will receive a coupon for a beer. Registration is required.

• Knoch Knolls Nature Center has several opportunities to look for and learn about spring wildflowers at Knoch Knolls Park. Wildflower Walks for ages 16 and up are scheduled at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, Saturday, May 1 and Friday, May 14. Additionally, a Family Hike with a Naturalist will take place on Saturday, April 24 from 9 -10:30 a.m. for ages 5 and up. These programs are free, but registration is required.

• The park district invites prospective gardeners to participate in a free tour of the Ron Ory Community Garden Plots with the Garden Plots manager to learn about gardening at the Garden Plots. Two dates are available: Saturday, April 17 and Tuesday, May 4, both beginning at 10 a.m. To further prepare for a successful gardening season, adults ages 18 and up can participate in two virtual gardening classes: Basic Gardening will take place on Wednesday, April 7 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Organic Gardening will be offered on Wednesday, April 14 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Both classes are free, but registration is required. A Zoom link will be sent to participants.
