Virtual program March 3 on invasive jumping worm

An online program about the invasive jumping worm in Illinois will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3.

Chris Evans, forestry and research specialist with the University of Illinois, will discuss the species potential impacts to natural ecosystems and managed landscapes, and what can and should be done about them.

Jumping worms are native to East Asia and identified in Illinois in 2015. They have the potential to change soil structure, deplete available nutrients, damage plant roots, and alter water holding capacity of the soil.
