Roddy Ricch has Apple Music's top album, song of 2020

NEW YORK (AP) - Roddy Ricch is the king of Apple Music: The rapper has the music platform's most-streamed song and album of the year.

Apple announced Thursday that Ricch achieved the feat with his hit 'œThe Box'ť and his debut album, 'œPlease Excuse Me for Being Antisocial.'ť

Rappers dominated the Top 5 most-streamed albums on Apple Music, with Lil Baby's 'œMy Turn,'ť Pop Smoke's 'œShoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon'ť and Lil Uzi Vert's 'œEternal Atake - LUV vs. The World 2'ť claiming spots two through four. R&B star Summer Walker's 'œOver It'ť came in fifth.

The Weeknd's 'œBlinding Lights'ť was the second most-streamed song of the year, followed by Australian singer Tones and I's 'œDance Monkey,'ť DaBaby and Ricch's 'œRockstar'ť and 'œLife Is Good" by Future and Drake.

'œDance Monkey,'ť originally released in 2019 but reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this year, was the most Shazamed song of the year (Apple acquired Shazam in 2018). SAINt JHN's 'œRoses (Imanbek Remix),'ť the Weeknd's 'œBlinding Lights,'ť Topic & A7S' 'œBreaking Me'ť and Regard's 'œRide It'ť round out the Top 5.

Ranked by time spent viewing lyrics in Apple Music, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's raunchy hit 'œWAP'ť tops the list of most-read lyrics of 2020. Other songs in the Top 5 include 'œDance Monkey,'ť YOASOBI's 'œYoru ni Kakeru,'ť Ricch's 'œThe Box'ť and Official HIGE DANdism 'œPretender.'ť
