Elgin Gives boosts the power of Giving Tuesday for local nonprofits

Giving Tuesday is an international movement, setting aside the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to helping nonprofits.

On this day, people choose to pause their holiday spending and invest in the organizations around them that are working to make their communities a better place to live.

Elgin Gives is a collaborative effort of community leaders in the greater Elgin area to bring the power of philanthropy's biggest day, #GivingTuesday, home to Elgin.

It helps nonprofits raise money by connecting new donors with nonprofits and increasing awareness about local nonprofits while leveraging the national marketing of Giving Tuesday.

Elgin Gives promotes philanthropic giving and recognizes the good work of all Elgin nonprofit organizations that meet the needs of citizens in our community - from vital services such as food, shelter, health care, education, senior services, and counseling to providing opportunities for youth leadership, to engage in sports, participate in the arts or just have plain fun on the block in which you live.
