Wrong location for fire station

The Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District request for a third location on Barrington Road is in an already highly congested traffic area especially with Route 59/Hawthorne Road to the west. The BCFPD proposal will add traffic and noise to that area on Barrington Road And as anyone who has tried to travel north/south through the village of Barrington during an almost nonstop rush hour knows, it is almost impassable.

In between the two highways lies a residential area already impacted by this traffic that will be extremely adversely impacted by the addition of a third fire station on Barrington Road. To the east is also completely residential with an elementary school. There are many alternative locations that will not cause harm to the surrounding community and I urge the BCFPD to consider an alternative location. The commercial/retail area just south on Barrington Road is one location that moves the traffic and noise farther away from the residential areas and closer to the service area.
