'Elfing around' and more this holiday season in Barrington
Residents and visitors in Barrington can look forward to festive decorations and events this holiday season, courtesy of local artists, student artists and the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce.
The holiday season's theme is "Just Elfing Around Barrington!" featuring colorful window decorations, holiday lights and lots of elves doing mischief.
Artists from the Barrington Area Artists Association and student artists from Barrington High School teamed up with local merchants to decorate windows this week. A ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open downtown Barrington for the holiday season takes place at 4 p.m. Tuesday along Cook Street.
Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Suzanne Corr encouraged families to make downtown Barrington a destination. "The holiday windows will offer a great family outing. Come shop, stroll and be merry!" she said.
Other holiday events planned in Barrington:
