Schaumburg Library closes due to stay-home advisory

The Schaumburg Township District Library closed Monday, Nov. 16, and will remain closed until further notice to help minimize the spread of COVID-19.

Library materials may be checked out online and picked up in the outdoor lockers at the Central Library, 130 S. Roselle Road, or the branch libraries in Hoffman Estates and Hanover Park, which offer curbside pickup.

"We put thoughtful consideration into closing our buildings and determined this preventive action to be the best way for us to help minimize the spread of COVID-19," said Executive Director Annie Miskewitch.

"We hope the community will stay home, when possible, and take advantage of the many online services we continue to offer."

Information about the library's programs, services, safety guidelines and more is available at SchaumburgLibrary.org.

In addition to online services, the library also offers free Wi-Fi, which has been extended out to the parking lots in all three library locations.

"We're happy to provide our community with e-books, streaming services, online learning and great online programs for all ages," Miskewitch said.

Miskewitch encourages library patrons to use trusted sources, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Illinois Department of Public Health, for information regarding COVID-19.
