Teens charged in Prospect Heights 7-Eleven robbery

Two teens have been charged with robbing a Prospect Heights 7-Eleven in August, police said Thursday.

Police received a call Aug. 31 about shots fired and an armed robbery in progress at the 7-Eleven, 1 N. Wolf Road. The thieves fled on foot, according to a news release.

After a monthslong investigation, police arrested one of the teens Oct. 22 and the other Wednesday.

The boys, ages 15 and 16, were each charged with one count of armed robbery, one count of discharging a firearm and one count of attempted homicide. The 16-year-old was also charged one count of aggravated battery, police said.
