Signatures and voting
My wife has Parkinson's disease and I wanted to let others in the community know that mail-in or absentee ballots that require a signature could be a problem for people whose handwriting is shaky or different from time to time. We knew this might be a problem, so she filled out paperwork earlier in the year with her newest signature. However, her ballot was still challenged and we had to work with The DuPage County Board of Elections to get it straightened out. The Parkinson's Foundation and The Michael J. Fox Foundation have good resources on their websites for people who might have similar issues with their ballots being challenged because of a signature looking different from what's on file. Thankfully, my wife's ballot was accepted and her vote counted.
