Senior flu shot clinic in Arlington Heights Oct. 22

Northwest Community Healthcare Senior Services will be available from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 22, to administer flu shots at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road.

People over 65 are at greater risk of serious complications from the flu because immune systems become weaker with age. Because seasonal flu viruses change every year, a new flu shot is recommended annually. The High-Dose Senior Quadrivalent flu shot will be available to those 65 and over.

The vaccine is free for those with Medicare B as their primary insurance. Without Medicare, the cost is $29 for the regular dose, $65 for the high-dose option.

There are no residency restrictions, but reservations are required. Call (847) 618-5575 for more information.
