Clubhouse Chatter: Here are the best and worst uniforms in sports
What our Sports staff has to say while waiting for the games to resume.
Though I'm sure it'll be revisited, I like the Chicago Blackhawks' sweater, preferably in red. I just think it's striking -- and I like their special all-black uniform as well. As far as the worst, that'd have to go to the 1970s-era White Sox short pants uniforms, which were so bad in a rec league softball sort of way that they're actually kind of neat.

I'll take the Blackhawks' white uniforms over any in sports. Takes me back to seeing it for the first time and reminds me of the greats like Stan Mikita and Tony Esposito.

My pick for worst is the Philadelphia Eagles reboot. Go back to green and silver, please. The Denver Broncos reboot is almost as bad. Put the D back on the helmet. Picking the best is tough since so many teams are changing things, but it's hard to beat the classic Los Angeles Lakers purple and gold.

Best looking: The Cubs' home uniforms. Simple, traditional pinstripes. They never get old. Honorable mention: The Bears' navy jerseys with white pants. Same explanation (minus the pinstripes). Worst looking: Anything the NFL shows on Thursday nights. Those colors make players look like sherbet with helmets on.

I have a hard time separating my opinion of how a uniform looks with my feelings of the team wearing them. So it's an easy answer for me. Best-looking uniforms? University of Illinois circa late 1980s. Worst-looking uniforms? Three-way tie between Iowa, Michigan and Indiana.

I'm obviously influenced by my childhood but Notre Dame's football uniforms and DePaul's men's basketball uniforms from the 1970s create fond memories for me. The sight of both got my blood racing as a child.
