Caps and masks and gowns: Dundee-Crown grads receive diplomas in Sears Centre parking lot

Dundee-Crown graduates dodged the rain, but just barely, on Friday as they received their diplomas in outdoor ceremonies held the parking lot at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates.

Grads' whose last names start with A through L had a morning commencement, while the afternoon ceremony was for M through Z.

"It's good that we are getting one at least," Vincent Mercado, 18, of Algonquin, said at his graduation, the circumstances of which he would "definitely not" forget.

Hampshire and Jacobs graduates will have their commencements Saturday at the Sears Centre parking lot.

The Hampshire ceremonies will be at 9 a.m. (A through L) and noon (M through Z), while Jacobs will hold ceremonies at 3 p.m. (A through J) and 6 p.m. (K through Z).
