Barrington District 220 superintendent thanks community

Barrington Area Unit District 220 Superintendent Brian Harris issued a statement Wednesday thanking voters for approving a request to borrow $147 million for building projects, including safety and security upgrades at all schools.

"Especially at a time like this, when our nation and our community are facing unprecedented challenges, it is amazing to see the Barrington area stand behind our schools," Harris said.

Construction likely will begin in spring 2021 and occur in phases over several years, he said. Voters approved District 220's borrowing request in Tuesday's election.
