Barrington has joined a growing list of suburbs with a curbside textile recycling program. Barrington and partner Simple Recycling will launch the effort in April. Simple Recycling will provide bright-orange bags for used clothing, shoes and accessories. The orange bags must be placed next to regular recycling carts for collection. Village officials said the program will be in addition to current recycling at no extra cost. Ohio-based Simple Recycling has textile deals with Mount Prospect, Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Elgin and other suburbs.
