League of Women Voters to hold candidate forums for next primary
The Aurora Area, Central Kane County and Naperville chapters of the League of Women Voters are sponsoring candidate forums for select contested primary elections.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Seating is limited, so audience members should arrive early.
Only candidates in contested races have been invited to participate.
• On Thursday, Feb. 6, the Aurora Area and Central Kane chapters of the League of Women Voters will sponsor candidate forums for Kane County Board Chairman, Kane County State's Attorney, and Kane County Board districts 10 and 14 at the Batavia City Hall, 100 N. Island Ave. The forums will begin at 7 p.m. with the Kane County Board districts 10 and 14, then follow with a short break between each group of candidates. The Batavia Chamber of Commerce also is sponsoring this event.
• On Wednesday, Feb. 12, the Aurora Area chapter of the League of Women Voters will host a candidate forum for Illinois State House 83 at 6:30 p.m. at the Aurora Police Department, 1200 E. Indian Trail Road. Candidates will speak and answer questions.
• On Monday, Feb. 17, the Aurora Area and Naperville chapters of the League of Women Voters will sponsor two candidate forums for the 11th Congressional District primary elections at Naperville City Hall, 400 S. Eagle St. The first forum, for the Democratic nomination, will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. The second candidate forum, for the Republican nomination, will follow at 8 p.m.
• On Monday, Feb. 24, the Aurora Area chapter of the League of Women Voters will host a candidate forum for Kane County Districts 2, 4, and 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Aurora Police Department, 1200 E. Indian Trail Road. Candidates will speak and answer questions.
The forums in Batavia will be recorded by Batavia Access TV (BATV) and available online afterward.
Visit the LWV Aurora Area, Central Kane County or Naperville chapter websites to view the forums and/or to join one of these chapters. All women and men 16 and older are welcome to become members.
