Police: Motorcycle club members arrested on weapons charges

BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) - Four motorcycle club members and an associate of the group have been charged with gun crimes while in Massachusetts to attend a fellow member's memorial service, state police said Saturday.

The arrests on Friday afternoon and evening were the result of an investigation that began at a motel in Brockton where suspected members of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club were either staying or meeting with other members, authorities said.

State troopers seized several handguns and a small amount of methamphetamine.

Police arrested Matthew Miles, of McMinniville, Tennessee, Pedro Tapia, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Matthew Ballingham, of Waterbury, Connecticut, Edward Mahon, of Cornwall, Vermont, and Margaret Cahill, of Westmont, Illinois.

Most were charged with illegally possessing guns. Police said Cahill is a suspected associate of the group and the others are members.

All of them posted bail and are due in Brockton District Court next week. It wasn't immediately clear if they have lawyers who could respond to the allegations.
