Rosary High School celebrates Holiday Hopes Day Dec. 13

"Holiday Hopes" is Rosary High School's annual Christmas adopt-a-family service project. Each homeroom adopts a family in need. Students provide specially chosen and lovingly wrapped presents for each family member. In addition to presents and treats, every family receives a food basket with ingredients for special holiday meals and a gift certificate to a local grocery store.

Students and their families prayerfully considered what they could share this holiday season and made their donations on one day in October.

"We follow the apostles and trust the Scripture promise that we will bring what we have and we will have enough," said campus minister Bridget Gamboni, "All who believed had all things in common … they would divide them among all, according to each one's need."

All donations collected were put into the Adopt-a-Family Fund and divided equally for each adopted family and homeroom.

The school will provide gifts for 22 families from neighboring parish schools in Aurora.

On Friday, Dec. 13 from 8:15 to 9:10 a.m., the students, staff, and parent and alumnae volunteers will be dressed for the holidays, wrapping presents, packing food baskets, and delivering them to the festively-decorated and gift-filled foyer. The gifts will be presented to the families in the afternoon and evening.

Rosary's music programs will provide an all-school Christmas concert from 9:15 to 10 a.m.
