Chicago Bar Association offers free legal advice Saturday

CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Bar Association is offering brief legal advice for free by phone.

Advice from attorneys from the Call-a-Lawyer Program is typically available the third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon at (312) 544-2001.

Callers may briefly explain their situation. The attorney will offer self-help strategies or problem-solving advice.

Those with further questions or needing additional help may call the bar association's lawyer referral service during the week for help in finding appropriate legal help.

The referral service has more than 200 qualified lawyers who can help in a variety of areas including domestic relations, personal injury, estate planning, real estate and employment law.

The association also offers an after-hours on-call service for those needing access to an attorney after business hours.
