Glen Ellyn District 41 seeking applicants as school board member resigns
Linda D'Ambrosio has resigned from the Glen Ellyn Elementary District 41 school board 2½ years into her first term.
D'Ambrosio is stepping down because she is moving out of the district. Officials announced the board vacancy Monday.
The board will appoint a new member to complete her term until the 4-year seat is up for election in April 2021.
The district is asking anyone seeking the position to submit a statement of interest to the remaining six board members by 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14.
As part of the selection process, applicants may be asked to attend an interview with the board.
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen who is at least 18 and a registered voter who has lived in the district for at least a year.
To apply, statements of interest can be submitted using an online form available on the district's website at d41.org. A paper application also can be requested from Board Recording Secretary Nancy Mogk. The materials can be emailed to nmogk@d41.org, faxed (630-790-1867) or mailed to Glen Ellyn School District 41, 793 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
D'Ambrosio, who has a background in financial compliance, won election in April 2017. She was mostly aligned with a slate of former board members Stephanie Clark and Kurt Buchholz.
