Trick-or-Treat 5K Trot kicks off Fall Harvest on the Square Oct. 20

Huntley's Fall Harvest on the Square will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, on Coral Street, between Woodstock and Church streets.

Before the festivities begin, join the Huntley Police Department's fourth annual Law Enforcement Torch Run Trick-or-Treat 5K Trot to benefit Special Olympics Illinois. It will begin with Trick-or-Treat 5K Trot for Special Olympics at 11 a.m. Registration/check-in will be 9 to 10:45 a.m., followed by the Torch Lighting Ceremony at 10:50 a.m. Online registration through Oct. 19 is $25 or $30 day-of; includes a treat bag.


This fun run taking place in downtown Huntley is perfect for the entire family. It is not a timed race, but a clock will be provided at the finish line for those interested in tracking their times. All participants will be awarded a chocolate medal at the finish line by local Special Olympics athletes.

Come early and enjoy the party! Pre-event music will be provided by Huntley Community Radio. Costumes are encouraged as you "trick and trot" for the athletes of Special Olympics. Water stations will be available mid-route and at the finish line. It will take place rain or shine.

After the run, stop by an open air market with foods, crafts and more from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Party with DJ Don or take in a free carousel pony ride from noon to 4 p.m.

The Family Costumer Parade around the square will be held at 1 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran Church will host a "Trunk-or-Treat" from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Church Street.

Join in free family games and kids crafts from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Pumpkins, corn stalks and Indian corn will be available for sale.
