Honor moms with aid to Global Fund

May is the time to give thanks for all the things mothers have given to enrich our lives. Sadly, millions of moms won't be able to celebrate this Mother's Day. HIV is the leading cause of death of women of reproductive age in low- and middle-income countries and across the globe.

But there's hope. Since 2002, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria helped save 27 million lives, due in great part to U.S. leadership in providing one-third of the financial resources for the Global Fund.

The Global Fund Partnership now needs at least $14 billion to save 16 million lives by 2022 and put us on a path to finally ending these diseases. I can think of nothing better to honor moms than our members of Congress and President Donald Trump continuing our commitment to the Global Fund and providing at least one-third of the $14 billion needed.
