Re-elect incumbents to Wheeling village board

April elections are rapidly approaching, some races are contested and some are not. Village of Wheeling voters will be asked to elect three trustees. Wheeling residents are fortunate the incumbents - Ray Lang, Joe Vito and Dave Vogel - are seeking another term.

There is currently $300 million of development in various phases of construction just in the Town Center area of Wheeling. If not for the entire village board working together this remarkable phenomenon would not be possible. Neighboring communities are amazed, and dare I say, jealous of our progress.

While we may sometimes disagree, the board consistently works for the betterment of Wheeling. We listen to each other, respect each other's viewpoints and no one tries to promote their own agenda. By working together we are making Wheeling a better place to live and work. We value the input of staff, all experts in their respective fields.

The challengers may have good intentions, however none have provided any evidence that they want to see our community continue to grow. They have failed to demonstrate an understanding of TIF districts or 6b property tax incentives, essential tools to attract development.

The current board realizes the importance of balancing the needs of residents, industry and retail and will continue to keep that balance by working with each other.

I wholeheartedly endorse Ray Lang, Joe Vito and Dave Vogel for trustee in the Village of Wheeling.
