How to give Valentines for Vets
Congressman Brad Schneider on Monday announced the launch of the Tenth District "Valentines for Vets" program to collect and distribute Valentine's Day cards to local veterans.
Constituents of all ages are encouraged to participate by dropping off or mailing cards to Schneider's Lincolnshire office, or by dropping off cards at his offices in Round Lake Park and Waukegan. The deadline is Friday, Feb. 8.
"Our brave military men and women earn our admiration and gratitude every day. Valentine's Day gives us the chance to show our appreciation in a special way," Schneider said in an announcement of the program.
In previous years, Schneider's office collected more than 1,000 cards from constituents and area schoolchildren, which were distributed to veterans at Lovell Federal Health Care Center and at a breakfast for the Lake County Honor Flight.
Schneider's offices are located at: 111 Barclay Blvd., Suite 200, Lincolnshire, IL IL 60069; 433 E. Washington St., Round Lake Park, IL 60073; and 100 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Waukegan, IL 60085.
