Link Elementary School holds DARE graduation

On Wednesday, Nov. 28, the Elk Grove Village Crime Prevention Unit hosted its annual (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) DARE Graduation at Link Elementary School. The Crime Prevention Unit, as part of a partnership with DARE America, taught more than 80 sixth-grade students the DARE curriculum during an eight-week period.

The DARE curriculum is designed to highlight the importance of being safe and responsible while placing an emphasis on good decision-making. Through role playing and critical thinking, the students learned about risk and consequences in the hopes that they can apply their learning to real-life situations.

During the graduation, several students were recognized for their participation and embodiment of the DARE spirit, both in and out of the classroom.

This program was made possible by the support of the Elk Grove Village Mayor and board, the Elk Grove Village Lions Club, and the Elk Grove Village Police Department.
