Conley, Green lead Grizzlies past Clippers 96-86

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Mike Conley scored 22 points, JaMychal Green had 19 points and 11 rebounds, and the Memphis Grizzlies held the Los Angeles Clippers to a season scoring low in a 96-86 victory Wednesday night.

Memphis held Los Angeles to 34 percent shooting and forced 19 turnovers. Jaren Jackson Jr. finished with 13 points for Memphis, which pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Boban Marjanovic led the Clippers with a season-high 19 points and had eight rebounds, while Danilo Gallinari added 17 points. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Lou Williams contributed 12 points apiece, with Williams hit 2 of 8 shots.

The Clippers were within 75-74 with just under nine minutes left, but the Grizzlies rattled off eight straight points for an 83-74 lead.

Los Angeles struggled in the first half but snapped back early in the third quarter with 11 straight points to take its first lead at 53-51. The Clippers defense was much more active than in the first half. The game settled into an exchange of leads and ties, including 69-all at the end of the third.

The Clippers endured terrible first-half shooting, converting only 27 percent from the field, including 3 of 12 from outside the arc. That allowed Memphis to lead by as many as 15 in the second quarter.

Marjanovic provided a spark for Los Angeles, preventing Memphis from stretching its lead. Marjanovic was perfect in the first half, converting all three of his shots from the floor and six free throws for 12 points.

Conley had 17 points, including a 33-footer at the end of the half for a 51-42 lead.

Clippers: Tobias Harris missed all 10 of his shots through three quarters before connecting on a 3-pointer early in the fourth. ... Galinari, among the league-leaders in free throws, missed consecutive foul shots in the third and missed four over the game. ... Montrezl Harrell had eight points, ending his streak of 13 straight games scoring at least 14 points off the bench.

Grizzlies: Conley or Marc Gasol have led the Grizzlies in scoring in 12 of the last 13 games. ... C Joakim Noah, signed by the Grizzlies on Tuesday, made his first appearance to start the second quarter. He played 13 minutes and scored four points. ... Conley had seven rebounds.
