• Telly J. Marion, 22, of Chicago, and Melissa M. Coquillard, 27, of Elgin, were each charged Monday with retail theft, Carpentersville records show. They are accused of stealing $43 worth of jewelry from Kohl's in Spring Hill Mall. Marion also was charged with obstructing a peace officer. They both are due in court Nov. 28.

• Hallie L. Snow, 25, of Elgin, was charged Sunday with retail theft, Carpentersville police said. She is accused of stealing $92 worth of merchandise from Walmart on Lake Marian Road.

• Reginald R. Clay, 20, of Carpentersville, was charged Sunday with retail theft, police said. He is accused of switching price tags and underpaying for an item at Walmart. Police said he also was involved in two prior retail thefts in May.

• Tyler J. Hibbing, 26, of Elgin, was charged Saturday with retail theft, Carpentersville police said. He is accused of stealing $1,190 worth of merchandise from Walmart, then leaving the cart and running away as an employee approached him.

• Brianna B. Reeves, 26, of St. Charles, was charged Saturday with retail theft, Carpentersville records show. She is accused of switching price tags and paying less than $2 for an $89 air mattress.

• Usvaldo O. Castaneda, 23, of Carpentersville, was charged Saturday with possession of a controlled substance, police said. Officers initiated a traffic stop at Skyline and Lake Marian roads and found him with 1 gram of a substance containing cocaine, police said.

• Eddie Rodriguez-Hernandez, 34, of Carpentersville, was charged Saturday with possession of cannabis, police said. During a traffic stop at Route 25 and Lake Marian Road, officers found him with about 9 grams of a substance containing marijuana, police said.

• Kevon F. Brooks, 39, of Elgin, was charged Nov. 1 with possession of a controlled substance, driving with a revoked license and driving without a registration light, Carpentersville police said. Officers initiated a traffic stop on Route 25 and found three pills, which tested positive for MDMA, in his backpack, police said.

• Two school bus batteries were reported stolen Nov. 1 out of a bus that was parked at Two Rivers Head Start Agency on Lake Marian Road.
