Learn about the Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge Nov. 13

Jerry Adelmann, president of the Openlands conservation organization, is the featured speaker at the Friends of Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge annual meeting, set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Memorial Hall, 10308 Main St., Richmond.

Adelmann will answer the question: "Does Hackmatack Really Matter?" The public is invited to the free event. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for networking and refreshments.

Also, the Tamarack Award will be presented to the McHenry County Conservation and Todd Boonstra, Hackmatack's first refuge manager will be on hand. Visit hackmatacknwr.org or call (262) 448-3558 for more information.
