2 men killed after gunfire on Interstate 57 near Chicago

CALUMET PARK, Ill. (AP) - Police are searching for who fired the gunshots into a vehicle on Interstate 57 in suburban Chicago that led to the deaths of two men.

Illinois State Police say both vehicles involved in the Monday night confrontation crashed on the highway in Calumet Park, just south of Chicago. At least three men who were inside the vehicle from which the shots were fired ran away from the scene.

Police say multiple shots hit the driver's side of the other vehicle. Two men inside were pronounced dead at hospitals, but officials didn't immediately say whether they died from gunshot or crash injuries. Another man in the vehicle was treated at a hospital and released.

Police didn't say what might have led up to the shooting.
