Deputies investigate toddler's apparent drowning in creek

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A toddler who wandered away from home apparently has drowned in a central Indiana Creek.

The Hamilton County sheriff's office says the child and a sibling walked from their home Monday afternoon in Noblesville, northwest of Indianapolis, while their mother was taking a shower.

Investigators believe the children opened the front door of the house on their own.

Their mother found one of the children nearby, but could not locate the toddler.

Sheriff's deputies were called and found the missing toddler several houses away in the creek. The toddler was pronounced dead at a hospital.
