League of Women Voters of the Elgin Area begins candidate forums Oct. 2

Before the Nov. 6 General Election, the League of Women Voters of the Elgin Area will host four candidate forums starting Oct. 2. A meet-and-greet will be held a half-hour before each forum.

• On Tuesday, Oct. 2, the Dundee/Rutland Townships Candidate Forum will feature candidates for state Senate 33rd District and 16th Circuit Court Judge (Akemann vacancy) at 7 p.m. at the Rakow Senior Center, 665 Barrington Ave., Carpentersville.

Candidates invited to attend are: Republican Donald P. DeWitte and Democrat Nancy Zettler for Senate 33rd District, and Republican Tom Hartwell and Democrat Michael J. Noland for the 16th Circuit Court.

• On Thursday, Oct. 4, the Elgin Candidate Forum will feature candidates for Kane County Clerk, Sheriff, and County Board District 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Gail Borden Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin.

Candidates invited to attend are: Republican Jack Cunningham and Democrat Nicholas G. "Nico" Jimenez for Kane County Clerk; Democrat Ron Hain and Republican Donald E. Kramer for Kane County Sheriff; and Democrat Mohammad "Mo" Iqbal and Republican Kurt Robert Kojzarek for Kane County Board District 19.

• On Tuesday, Oct. 9, the Dundee/Rutland Townships Candidate Forum will feature candidates for Kane County Clerk, Sheriff, and Kane County Board Districts 21 and 23 at 7 p.m. at the Rakow Senior Center, 665 Barrington Ave., Carpentersville.

Candidates invited to attend are: Republican Jack Cunningham and Democrat Nicholas G. "Nico" Jimenez for Kane County Clerk; Democrat Ron Hain and Republican Donald E. Kramer for Kane County Sheriff; Democrat Tara Jacobsen and Republican Cliff Surges for Kane County Board District 21; and Democrat Christopher W. Kious and Republican Jim Patrician for Kane County Board District 23.

• On Thursday, Oct. 11, the Elgin Candidate Forum will feature candidates for state House 43rd District, state House 65th District, and 16th Circuit Court judge (Akemann vacancy) at 6:30 p.m. at the Gail Borden Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin.

Candidates invited are: Republican Andrew R. Cuming and Democrat Anna Moeller for House 43rd District; Democrat Richard Johnson and Republican Dan Ugaste for state House 65th District; and Republican Tom Hartwell and Democrat Michael J. Noland for the 16th Circuit Court.

Early voting begins Oct. 22.
