Body found in Mississippi River in the St. Louis area

COLUMBIA, Ill. (AP) - Authorities have found a man's body in the Mississippi River in the St. Louis area.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the man's body was discovered early Wednesday morning near Columbia, Illinois.

Authorities are waiting until DNA test results are available to identify the man. They didn't say if the body is suspected to be that of a man reported missing Tuesday afternoon while swimming with friends in the river near the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge.
