The Elgin Lions Club Foundation will host a Dysautonomia Awareness Benefit honoring Jessica Sanders from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Diamond Jim's, 325 Meier St. in East Dundee.

It will feature music, food, drink, raffles and a 50/50 raffle.

Enjoy Audiodrive playing rock music from the 1980s starting at 6 p.m.

In eighth grade, Sanders was stricken by a virus. She was later diagnosed at Mayo Clinic with dysautonomia and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, which is a malfunction of the autonomic nervous system. It causes a host of debilitating symptoms. Diagnosing this illness can be a very long and difficult process. Help spread awareness to help shorten the diagnosis phase for others.

Tickets are $10 at the door.

Donations will go toward medical expenses. Need a tax ID? Call (815) 871-1696 or email Charlene at csanders@mcwhc.com.

To donate, send a check made payable to the Elgin Lions Club Foundation, P.O. Box 276, Elgin IL 60124. For information, email supernovaj98@gmail.com.
