BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The former manager of Bloomington's city-owned arena faces a new theft indictment charging that he illegally transferred city money to a group that used to own the Bloomington Thunder hockey team.

The new charge against Bart Rogers comes after he and Central Illinois Arena Management owner John Y. Butler were among five charged in September that they bilked the city of more than $1 million. The Pantagraph reports the new charges allege Rogers in 2013 transferred $15,000 to Illinois Pro Sports, a firm in which he was a managing partner.

Prosecutors have said those charged skimmed money for years while the company ran was then known as U.S. Cellular Coliseum. They have all pleaded not guilty.

Rogers' defense lawyer Stephanie Wong says the matter is a contract dispute.
