Artsy students

Manifest returns as Chicago's largest student-run festival. There are more than 100 events including poetry readings, dance performances, gallery strolls and more at Columbia College Chicago's Wabash Arts Corridor in the South Loop, with Wabash Avenue closed from 9th to 11th streets. In bloom

Lombard's annual Lilac Time has commenced, featuring more than 700 lilacs and 25,000 tulips in Lilacia Park, 150 S. Park Ave., Lombard. There are also many other events ranging from a pancake breakfast (8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19) to a parade (1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 20). The one-hour Lilac Heritage Tour costs $5 and includes the "History of the Lilac Collection" exhibit. Check the calendar on the website for times and dates. Oz in crisis

Disney was critically lambasted for its "Wizard of Oz" sequel "Return to Oz," but die-hard fans of L.
