Baseball: Lake Park, WW South, Glenbard West win

Lake Park 4, Glenbard North 3:

Anthony Baturin's RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning gave the Lancers (11-10, 8-8) a walkoff win in the DuPage Valley Conference. Baturin went 4-for-4 with 3 RBI for Lake Park, which rallied with 3 runs in the sixth inning. Paul Beverly went 3-for-3 and Zach Aehlert had 2 hits. Ryan Behling struck out 10 in 7 innings. Jim Zay went 3-for-4 for Glenbard North (7-15, 2-13).


WW South 15, Metea Valley 13:

The Tigers (11-11, 9-9 DuPage Valley) trailed 13-6 before exploding for 9 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Matt Scherrman had 3 RBI while Kendall Simpson, Patrick McGarry and Matt Brodhead all drove in 2 runs. Evan Hartman was the winning pitcher in relief. Mike Romano notched the save. Andrew Cronin drove in 3 runs for Metea Valley (10-12, 9-10). Jake Kmiecik and Cade Sullivan each had 3 hits.

Glenbard West 6, Stillman Valley 5:

The Hilltoppers (10-8) won on a walkoff when Grant Lalla launched a 3-run homer with his team trailing 5-3. Four pitchers combined on the mound, with Sam Fenske notching the win in relief.

Montini 6, De La Salle 1:

Antoine Harris drove in 3 runs as the Broncos (16-9, 10-4) wrapped up Chicago Catholic League play. Matt Pestel went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Winning pitcher Ben Steiner struck out seven in 6 innings.

St. Francis 3, Kaneland 2:

Nick Kosmetatos homered and won on the mound for the Spartans (9-10) in nonconference play.
