Fatal truck-auto crash blocks Chicago-area expressway

CHICAGO (AP) - A fiery crash on Interstate 290 outside Chicago that involved three tractor-trailers and four other vehicles left one person dead and two others injured.

Illinois State Police says the Thursday crash caused the cab of semi to burst into flames and shut down traffic headed into Chicago. Firefighters used the O'Hare International Airport foam truck to douse the flames.

Trooper Philip Ayala says two people were taken to nearby hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Several others refused treatment at the scene.

Ayala said the person killed in the crash has yet to be identified "due to the condition of the body."

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the crash.
