Authorities: Young siblings killed in crash in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Authorities say a 17-year-old girl and her 13-year-old brother have died in a two-vehicle crash in Indianapolis crash.

Indianapolis police responded Sunday along with members of the Wayne Township Fire Department and the siblings were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle involved was taken to a hospital for a blood draw, which is standard in such cases.

The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the siblings as Alexandra and Aaron Koffi.

The teenagers were students in the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township. The district says in a statement that the school community is "devastated" and the students "were very active in their schools and respected by their peers."

Grief counselors were being made available Monday for students. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
