To what extent does the Affordable Care Act address this responsibility? What, if any, changes are needed in the act.Families in the 8th Congressional District want healthcare reform. They understand that the current system is unsustainable and reduces choice all at an increasing costs to consumers. We need to move away from Obamacare, keeping the few parts that have proven to work well and replacing the rest with a free enterprise system that fosters competition in health care and lowers costs. We should allow for insurance to be bought across state lines, increasing competition in the free market. Every day that goes by without healthcare reform we are putting families at risk. The current system does not provide the quality access to affordable care Americans deserve. The administration must make this a priority in 2018.What immigration policies do you support? Where, if at all, do you see room for compromise to produce an effective policy on immigration? What, if any, responsibility does the government have toward immigrants referred to as Dreamers who were brought to the United States illegally as children and are now adults? How will these policies affect your district? We must secure our borders so we know who's entering our nation. I also support legal immigration and will work in Congress to improve the system that rewards those who came here legally. We have not accepted too many immigrants, but we have turned a blind eye to those who have come here illegally. Any increase in the security of our southern border is a good thing if it helps stop the flow of illegal immigrants or potential terrorists into our country. Be it a wall, electronic surveillance or other technology, I support the increase in resources for the border patrol and local law enforcement. What military or diplomatic roles should the United States play to promote peace and stability in the Mideast? Under what circumstances should we have military forces actively operating? The Middle East has always been an area of the world where peace and stability has been difficult to achieve. However, I am encouraged by the progress our military has made under the current administration in the fight against ISIS. We must continue to build on these successes and dismantle terrorist organizations where they pose threats to American interests. What should the United States be doing to reduce the threat of potential nuclear conflict from North Korea? We must work within our strategic allies in the region including South Korea, Japan and China to reduce the threat of potential nuclear conflict with North Korea. We must always protect our citizens from threats to our security. How would you describe the effectiveness of Congress today? If you think Congress needs to be more effective, what would you do to promote that?Voters in the 8th Congressional District are sick and tired of sending politicians to Washington who don't get anything done. Republicans and Democrats alike are more concerned with getting reelected than making real progress for the nation. In Congress I will work with my colleagues from both sides of the aisle to find areas of mutual agreement, negotiate when appropriate while holding a firm set of ideals. Working together Congress can address some of the biggest issues that we face. I hope to be part of the solution. What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office? The middle-class in America is shrinking. These are hard-working people who aren't looking for handouts, they are simply looking for opportunities to support their families and achieve their piece of the American dream. We need to strengthen the middle-class by focusing our policies on supporting everyday Americans instead of special interests. We need to focus on increasing incomes, not raising taxes. The recent tax law set a cap on state and local income taxes deduction at $10,000. This will greatly hurt many families in my district and we need to offer relief through reform while pushing for local and state property tax reductions. It's about time government stopped getting in the way and actually started supporting our small businesses and entrepreneurs. We need to reduce costly regulations on businesses that strip our economy of billions of dollars. We must incentivize people to buy American and hire American through business tax credits. Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Speaker Paul RyanWhat is the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?work hard and be truthful to everyone and don't give upIf life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?I do what ever it takes to save my two daughters and father in law in house fireWhat was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?learning world history in school taught me as responsible citizen we can play very important role in Nation buildingIf you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?be honest with yourself and others
