Sheriff: Suspect and slain Illinois teen met online

GRANVILLE, Ill. (AP) - Authorities say they believe the suspect in last month's slaying of a northern Illinois teenager met the girl online before he picked her up at her house, drove her to a rural area and killed her.

Sauk Valley Media reports that officials on Tuesday talked about the slaying of 16-year-old Diamond Bradley of Spring Valley and Monday's arrest of 26-year-old Richard A. Henderson. Putnam County Sheriff Kevin Doyle said investigators believe Henderson drove her to a rural roadway in Granville Township on Jan. 24 and killed her in the area where her stabbed body was found three days later.

Henderson is charged with concealing the girl's death. Doyle said more charges are expected and investigators are confident that Henderson killed the girl. Henderson is being held on $1 million bond. His attorney did not immediately respond to a call for comment.
