Arizona women pick up first conference victory, 72-63

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - JaLea Bennett scored 23 points and Arizona beat Colorado 72-63 on Friday night for the Wildcats' first conference victory.

Bennett made 11 of 15 shots while Kat Wright hit five 3-pointers for 16 points and Destiny Graham made 9 of 10 free throws in scoring 13 points with seven rebounds.

The Wildcats (5-13, 1-6 Pac-12) lost by 19 at Colorado (11-7, 2-5) on Dec. 31 and were coming off a 40-point loss to No. 22 Oregon State on Sunday that ran their losing streak to six.

Alexis Robinson made five from behind the arc and scored a career-high 26 points and Kennedy Leonard added 11 points and eight assists.

Arizona led by 10 after three periods but Colorado scored the first eight points of the four quarter. Arizona didn't give up the lead and outscored Colorado 10-4 over the final 2:07 with Graham making 7 of 8 free throws in the final minute.
