Suburban Chicago man charged in shooting death of dad
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. (AP) - A suburban Chicago man is being held without bond on charges he shot his father to death in their home.
Hoffman Estates police say 22-year-old Alec Tarasiuk shot his 57-year-old father, Walter Tarasiuk late Wednesday.
Walter Tarasiuk was found inside his home with a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cook County medical examiner's office. Alec Tarasiuk was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree murder.
Judge Steven J. Goebel ordered the younger Tarasiuk held without bail during a hearing Thursday. His next court date was scheduled for Feb. 1.
Authorities haven't released information on what led to the shooting.
