A vacant house near Buffalo Grove was destroyed by fire Tuesday.

No one was hurt in the blaze on the 1500 block of Garden Court. The two-story house was being remodeled, and a worker who was there at the time got out safely, said Lt. Jeff Gibson of the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District.

 

When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting through the roof at the back of the house, Gibson said.

Lincolnshire-Riverwoods received help on the scene from departments including Buffalo Grove, Wheeling, Palatine and Des Plaines.

The fire is under investigation, but Gibson said it looked accidental.

Damage was estimated at $150,000.
