In this week's #TBT Gallery, we take a look back at high school football in 1976 and 1977.
As we enter the fall season, football is on everyone's minds. The game sweeps down on us in the autumn as frost permeates the air. The sport provides a common ground, a place for fans of all ages to meet once a week and cheer on their team.
As the players emerge from their locker rooms, they are greeted by the fans. The sound of the faceless mass fills the air like thunder. It's game time.
This gallery looks at game action, coaches, cheerleaders, fans and the band. All aspects of the game we love so much.
At first glance, the pictures may look like they could have been taken at any time. Two differences you might notice - Saturday day games are almost nonexistent now, and games were played on grass, not on the synthetic turf that most high schools have today.
