Police probe burglary of Glen Ellyn liquor store, Dairy Queen

Police on Wednesday asked for help identifying a man they think stole cash from a Glen Ellyn liquor store and broke into a neighboring Dairy Queen.

An alarm went off about 4:30 a.m. Sunday at Discount Liquor and Tobacco, 852 N. Main St. Police found the front glass doors of the store and of a nearby Dairy Queen had been shattered, according to a news release Wednesday from the Glen Ellyn Police Department.

The thief made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the liquor store, but nothing was reported stolen from the Dairy Queen.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 40 years old, wearing a black stocking hat, a black and gray North Face coat, and glasses worn low on his nose, according to the news release.

Officials have asked anyone who recognizes the suspect or has any information about the burglary to contact the Glen Ellyn Police at 630-469-01187.
