What should the city do with the current police station?City currently is reviewing options to relocate Police station. Options are to build on owned city property close to NorthHigh School. I would keep old station and use it as a sub station for the downtown area - similar to our fire dept strategy. What are the necessary elements for a redevelopment project at the old St. Charles Mall site to receive a favorable city council vote?Sound strategy for the project with design drawings for the current structures and Request for Proposals from several developer. Avoid being tied down to one like we are currently dealing with on 1st Street. What are your expectations for the Charlestowne Mall/The Quad during the next four years? What can the city do to help the property reach those goals?Discussion have been going on too long. Owners of property have a strategy that is taking longer than anticipated. Council need to be open to productive discussions with owner's and determine best course of action that benefits our residents, the business owner and City of St. CharlesWhat is your philosophy regarding local events involving alcohol and new businesses coming to town that involve the sale of alcohol? Would you support more taverns and alcohol-related events in the downtown?Easy answers is NO. But , it depends on the Event duration and if a new tavern/Bar Grill location. Definition of a food and liquor establishment is different than a pure Tavern. Mayor Regina and Liquor board has done a great job in establishing guidelines for the business owner's of our current bar's.The city is just now seeing some income from video gambling activity. Should video gambling remain legal in the city? If not, how would you go about removing the machines from local businesses/organizations that receive the income from the machines?Had I ben on council when voted for the trial I would have voted NO! I am convinced we left our fate up to Council members Mayor NO town Halls to discuss citizens input. Current trail period has about 8 establishments from Sept to present with revenues to City just under $14,000. Far from the quoted $500,000 for city revenue. I will vote NO when trail period is over with. Removal is not the City issue it's the Vendor who is supplying that made close to $200,000. That's the fight and we as a City need to be prepared to stand our ground. What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Being available with focus on the residents in the 2nd WARD and available to support City wide . Hearing their voice, being available and in contact with them will give me a better idea what issues and concerns they may have about our city future. Often I feel their voice is not heard and votes are cast by Council with the attitude " We Know what's best for the community versus Listing to the voters/residents". I have not been to many council meeting the past year do to my wife's health but that has changed and I'm ready to re-engage with the community. Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Donald Trump. Took on a large challenge to run for President and won. What is the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Honesty integrity - no compromiseIf life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?More time with my wife family. My military career and business profession I traveled a great dealWhat was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?History - enjoyed, learned lessons that often repeated. If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?Never compromise your faith and integrity.
