I'm a long time volunteer at my church, as a past Sunday School Teacher. I've helped with book-keeping, and been a past Director of the Board of Fellowship. Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is it?I feel the library is an important resource for the surrounding Communities.If you are an incumbent, describe your main contributions. Tell us of important initiatives you've led. If you are a non-incumbent, tell us what contributions you would make.In the past six years, as a Library Board Trustee I have helped recycle discarded books, and been the Committee leader for our participation with floats in Streamwoods' Summerfest Celebrations.Do you have a library card? How long have you had it? How often do you use it?I do have a library card. Have enjoyed using Libraries since my college days,then with my children and grandchildren.I visit the library regularly, sometimes checking out other libraries.Space is an issue at many libraries. If that's the case at your library, would your solution be to expand the physical plant or make room by doing away with parts of the collection that technology has made less critical? Explain.I believe it is important for the library to keep current and make changes for what the community needs.What impact have economic and technological changes had on libraries? How does a library remain relevant? How should its role in the community change?The library is affected by the economy and needs to use it's resources wisely in order to help the surrounding communities and keep up with the fast pace of change in technology.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?I enjoy helping the library run smoothly and continue to be useful to the people who rely on it.Please name one current leader who most inspires you.President Obama with his thoughtfulness.What is the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?It's important to not give up.If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?I would appreciate what life has to offer sooner.What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?I really enjoyed learning about Computer Science.
