Prioritize them, and briefly discuss why you believe each to be critical, and how the board should go about addressing them.Continue to increase services and control costs. We are working on an interconnecting trail system and to provide better transportation services for our seniors and people with disabilities.What should be the primary responsibility of township government?we provide assistance for our residents in need, youth services and senior services. We also ensure our tax assessments are fairly distributed and our Township roads are safe.In the 21st Century, with municipalities gobbling up vacant land, why are townships needed? Should they be serving a new role? If so, what?The role of Township are complimentary and not duplicative of Villages. We work very closely with the Villages in our Township to share resources and save the taxpayer money. Lake Villa Township has over 120 acres of active recreational land, we provide transportation services for our residents and provide both emergency and general assistance services to our residents in need.Are there any township offices that should be eliminated or consolidated?none to my knowledge, That does not mean we should not continue to see way to save Taxpayer money while continuing to provide important services.Can you identify some township expenses/programs that could be trimmed or eliminated to reduce the tax burden?We evaluate services and programs and services continually.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Lake Villa township has done a great job of providing our residents with needed services at a the lowest cost available.Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Randy Bernhardt, retired Scout Master of Troop 188.
